Limited visibility into Austria's innovation landscape

The Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH (FFG), national funding institution for industry-related research and development in Austria required a robust and scalable solution to assess and forecast the product innovation potential of companies across the country. The organization aimed to develop a predictive model capable of profiling the innovativeness of all Austrian businesses. Specifically, they wanted to uncover insights into how innovation trends correlate with company size, industry sector, and geographic region - all while ensuring timeliness and cost-efficiency at scale.

Our Solution

AI-powered innovation profiling with ISTARI webAI

Using our webAI technology, ISTARI systematically analyzed the websites of all Austrian companies to generate innovation scores through the proprietary webAI InnoProb indicator. InnoProb applies a scientifically grounded AI model to estimate the likelihood of product innovation at the individual company level based entirely on publicly available web data. Following the InnoProb prediction phase, an extensive exploratory data analysis was conducted. This analysis evaluated how innovation potential variances aligned with organizational attributes such as company size, industry classification, and regional distribution.
