ISTARI used webAI to enrich data for the Handwerkskammer Region Stuttgart, identifying companies performing crafts requiring authorization, saving time and enabling smart outreach based on web domain analysis and AI-generated activity indicators.
The Challenge
Data gaps stalled efforts to track authorization bound crafts
The Handwerkskammer Region Stuttgart sought to enhance their dataset of local companies by adding web domains and identifying businesses carrying out craft activities that require authorization in Germany. The lack of domain data and a scalable search mechanism made it difficult to spot relevant companies - resulting in time-consuming and often incomplete manual research. To improve regional engagement and oversight, a more efficient solution was needed.
Our Solution
Using webAI for domain enrichment and craft activity detection
ISTARI applied webAI to systematically enrich the client's data with up-to-date web domain information. We then built a keyword dataset based on 53 legally regulated craft activities. By crawling and analyzing company websites, webAI identified firms matching those activities and generated descriptions and confidence indicators to prioritize leads. The client received a clean, structured file with all matched companies, ready for targeted outreach.
The Impact
Smarter workflows and faster identification of relevant businesses
The project significantly reduced manual research time while increasing the scope and precision of company scouting. The Handwerkskammer Region Stuttgart can now effectively engage businesses that require craft authorization, backed by data they can trust. Thanks to webAI, regulatory monitoring and outreach in the craft sector became faster, smarter, and more scalable.
