ISTARI supported the Rhine-Neckar Regional Association in mapping key actors in the social economy across 15 districts. Using webAI and topic-specific keywords, a detailed dataset was created containing contact data, domains, geo-data, and organizational insights.
Limited visibility into social economy organizations across the region
The Rhine-Neckar Regional Association wanted to carry out a focused regional study on Social Economy and Social Innovation. Their goal was to identify relevant actors across the 15 administrative districts and gather detailed insights about each one. However, manually identifying and categorizing these diverse players - from cooperatives and NGOs to social startups and research hubs - was not only time-consuming but also incomplete.
AI-guided identification of key organizations using domain and keyword analysis
To address this challenge, ISTARI applied its webAI platform along with a purpose-built keyword list tailored to the Social Economy and Innovation sectors. Drawing from millions of indexed websites, the AI identified relevant companies, universities, research centers, non-profits, and other stakeholders operating within the Rhine-Neckar region. Each organization was tagged with domain data, activity focus, and geo-location.
A regional intelligence map with contact data, domain info, and activity indicators
ISTARI delivered a clear, structured dataset listing all relevant players in the social economy space. The final file included contact details, domains, key indicators from webAI, geographical data, and sustainability-related terms where applicable. With this enriched dataset, the Rhine-Neckar Regional Association now has the foundational insights needed to support regional strategy, stakeholder collaboration, and future research.
