The Department of Geoinformatics at the University of Salzburg used ISTARI’s webAI to scout U.S. disaster management companies. We delivered a high-quality, zero-effort dataset including company indicators, domains, geo-information, and hotspot maps — all without manual research.
Scouting U.S. disaster management companies without local infrastructure
The Department of Geoinformatics at the University of Salzburg required a detailed, up-to-date overview of U.S. companies active in disaster management. However, compiling relevant data across such a large and diverse market from Europe posed a major logistical challenge. Traditional research efforts would have been time-consuming and incomplete — with no guarantee of consistency or relevance at scale.
A multilingual, keyword-driven company analysis powered by webAI
We began with a multilingual keyword list specific to disaster management — including terms like “emergency response,” “disaster relief logistics,” and “resilience infrastructure.” Using ISTARI’s global database and webAI platform, we translated and applied these keywords across website content in 20 languages to identify relevant American companies. To go even deeper, we created a custom scoring indicator measuring how central disaster management was to each firm’s operations.
Comprehensive company dataset plus visual hotspot analysis
Our solution delivered a detailed output, including company names, domains, geo-coordinates, matched disaster-related keywords, and the custom indicator score. We also generated geospatial hotspot maps down to NUTS 1–3 levels for precise visualization. With near real-time data from ISTARI’s company intelligence infrastructure, the client received relevant, filtered insights without needing to do any manual research or data cleaning. The project not only optimized resources but also gave the University a clear view of market actors for research and collaboration purposes.
